Archive: Painting Gallery (2000-2001)

The focus of my work during these years included the interconnectedness I felt with my inner, natural and urban environments. The energy within my work was my fascination with the phenomenon and celebration of existence. Through painting I visually explored elements of my consciousness including dreams, memories, projections of the future and the phenomenon of rejoicing. As an image-maker, the truths, myths, beliefs and insights I investigated through color provide me with a profound sense of inner peace and creative excitement.

Furthermore, my images and colors reflected my love and belief in the naturalworld, in the divine, in miracles, in spirits, as well as, despite very turbulenttimes, in the human race. Lastly, it was during these years where I createdthe most paintings that celebrate my Mexican heritage through both pre-Cortésimagery as well as ecclesiastical iconography.
